Last updated: 23 September 2026
I respect your privacy and take the protection of your personal information seriously. This policy explains how I collect, use, store and share information when you visit my website, contact me or book an Advanced Blemish Removal consultation or treatment.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
I am Sarah Hurst, an independent Advanced Electrolysis and skin blemish removal practitioner. I am responsible for the personal information I collect and maintain for my own practice.
You can contact me about this policy or your personal information using the details below:
Email: sarahhurstskin@gmail.com
Telephone: 07984 797 265
Clinic: Turn Beautiful, 12 Market Street, Brighton BN1 1HH
Website: sarahhurstblemishremoval.co.uk
2. What information I collect
Depending on how you contact me or use my services, I may collect:
Your name, email address, telephone number and appointment details.
Information you include in an enquiry or correspondence with me.
Consultation questionnaires, relevant health information, details of your skin concern, consent forms, assessment notes and treatment records.
Clinical photographs, where I have specifically requested them for assessment or record-keeping.
Relevant information about a parent or guardian where a client is under 18.
Technical information collected when you use the website, such as information associated with cookies and website security.
I only ask for information that is relevant to your enquiry, consultation or treatment.
Please do not send medical information or skin photographs through the general website contact form unless I have specifically asked you to do so.
3. How I use your information
I use personal information to:
Respond to enquiries and communicate with you.
Arrange and manage consultations and treatment appointments.
Assess whether Advanced Electrolysis may be appropriate for your concern.
Discuss treatment options, obtain consent and keep accurate consultation and treatment records.
Provide relevant aftercare information and respond to questions following treatment.
Meet applicable professional and insurance requirements, and handle any complaint or legal claim.
Operate and protect my website.
I do not use information from your consultation or treatment records to send marketing messages without obtaining any permission required for that purpose.
4. My reasons for using personal information
Under UK data protection law, I use ordinary personal information where it is necessary to take steps you request before receiving a service, arrange and provide that service, comply with applicable obligations, or pursue legitimate interests such as responding to enquiries and maintaining appropriate business records.
Health information requires additional protection. Where I rely on explicit consent to collect and use relevant health information for your consultation and treatment, I will ask for this separately through the consultation process. Relevant health and treatment information may also need to be retained or used where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
You do not have to provide information through the general enquiry form. However, I may be unable to assess a concern or provide treatment safely if you do not provide the information reasonably required for your consultation.
5. Website enquiries
When you submit the contact form on this website, the information you provide is sent to my email address, sarahhurstskin@gmail.com. A copy of the submission may also be held within Squarespace’s form submission records.
I use this information to answer your enquiry and, if appropriate, help you arrange a consultation.
General enquiries that do not lead to a consultation or treatment are normally retained for up to 12 months after our last contact, unless there is a specific reason to keep them longer, such as an unresolved complaint. I then delete the information from the relevant email and website records.
If you become a client, relevant correspondence may instead form part of your client record.
6. Appointments through Turn Beautiful
Appointments are booked using the booking system operated by Turn Beautiful, where I provide my in-person Advanced Blemish Removal service.
Information you enter into that booking system is handled within Turn Beautiful’s system and is also subject to Turn Beautiful’s own privacy policy. Turn Beautiful is responsible for its own record-keeping and retention arrangements.
I maintain separate records for my own consultations and treatments, as explained below.
7. Consultation and treatment records
I maintain my own client records, which may include your consultation questionnaire, relevant health information, consent forms, assessment and treatment notes, relevant correspondence and any clinical photographs requested for your care.
My separate records are normally stored in private Google Drive folders accessible only to me through my account. I do not give Turn Beautiful access to those folders.
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.
Where a client is under 18, relevant information about their parent or guardian may also be recorded. Any treatment of a person under 18 is subject to appropriate assessment, consent arrangements and confirmation that the treatment is covered by my professional insurance.
8. How long I keep client records
My professional insurance policy requires me to retain accurate records of treatment and professional services for the following minimum periods:
Adult clients: at least seven years from the date of treatment.
Clients lacking capacity: the different retention period specified by the applicable insurance requirements will be considered.
Where a client has more than one treatment, I take account of the dates of their treatments when determining how long the complete record must be retained.
Records may need to be kept longer where there is an unresolved complaint, claim or another justified requirement. They will be reviewed and securely deleted when there is no longer a reason to retain them.
9. Who may receive your information
I use third-party services to operate my website, receive enquiries, manage appointments and store records. These include Squarespace, Google and the booking system operated by Turn Beautiful.
I may also disclose relevant information where necessary and appropriate to my professional insurer, a professional adviser, a regulator or another party where required by law or in connection with a complaint or legal claim.
I do not sell your personal information.
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred internationally, the applicable UK data protection requirements and safeguards must be observed. You can contact me if you would like further information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
10. Clinical photographs and marketing
If photographs are needed for assessment or as part of your treatment record, I will explain why they are being requested.
Clinical photographs will not be used on my website, on social media or in other public marketing without separate permission for that use. Agreeing to a clinical photograph being taken for your records does not mean you have agreed to its public use.
11. Cookies and website information
This website is hosted by Squarespace and uses an embedded appointment-booking service. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to provide website functions, maintain security and support the booking process.
I also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this website. Depending on your cookie choices, it may collect information such as the pages you visit, how you interact with the website, your device and browser type, and approximate location. I use this information to understand website traffic and improve the site. It is not used to assess your skin concerns or make treatment decisions.
You can choose Accept all, Decline all or Manage cookies using the website’s cookie banner. You can also revisit your choice using Cookie Preferences. The embedded booking service may have its own cookies and privacy information.
12. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis for using your information, you may have the right to:
Ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you.
Ask me to correct inaccurate information.
Ask for information to be erased or for its use to be restricted, where the relevant legal conditions apply.
Object to certain uses of your information.
Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for a particular use of your information.
Some rights are subject to exceptions. For example, I may need to retain relevant treatment records to meet applicable insurance requirements or deal with a legal claim.
To make a request or ask a question about your information, please email sarahhurstskin@gmail.com.
You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at www.ico.org.uk.
13. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy if my services, systems or legal requirements change. The latest version will be available on this website, with the date of the most recent update shown at the top.
