Blood spots, also known as cherry angiomas or Campbell de Morgan spots, are small red or purple vascular blemishes that commonly appear on the body as we get older.
Suitable blood spots can be treated using Advanced Electrolysis, with treatment carefully adapted to the size, location and number of blemishes present.

What are blood spots?
Blood spots, or cherry angiomas, are small collections of blood vessels that appear as bright red, deep red or purple marks on the skin. They can be flat or slightly raised and are most commonly found on the torso, arms and shoulders.
They are usually harmless and become increasingly common with age. Some people choose to have them treated because they catch on clothing, occasionally bleed if knocked, or simply because they would prefer them to be less visible.
I’ll assess the area at your consultation to make sure it appears suitable for Advanced Electrolysis.
TREATMENT
How I treat blood spots
Blood spots can be treated using Advanced Electrolysis. A very fine sterile probe is applied precisely to the blemish and a carefully controlled electrical current is used to treat the small collection of blood vessels.
Small blood spots can often respond very quickly, while larger or more established blemishes may need further treatment once the skin has settled.
I’ll assess the area at your consultation and explain what is realistic for you before treatment begins.
AFTER TREATMENT
What happens afterwards?
Over the next few days
A small amount of dried blood or crusting can form over the treated area. This should be left completely alone and allowed to come away naturally.
As the skin heals
The area should gradually settle as the crust comes away. Larger or more persistent blood spots may need further treatment once the skin has fully healed.
Immediately after
The treated spot may change in appearance straight away. Larger blood spots can temporarily look grey or darker following treatment.
You’ll be given clear aftercare advice following your treatment.
Your treatment includes an aftercare product to take home, along with guidance on how to care for your skin as it heals.

A consultation is required before treatment and is charged separately at £25.
For small or straightforward blood spots, a 15-minute appointment may be enough. The number that can be treated will depend on their size, location and how established they are.
Larger, multiple or more complex areas may need additional time or further treatment once the skin has healed.
